The town is a picturesque historic seaside town located on the south-east coast of Kent.

 The historic Royal Harbour is the focused point of the town. It has a yacht-packed marina, many pavement cafes and waterfront bars surrounding it.

Fine architecture peppers the town with elegant Georgian terraces and impressive Regency villas making up the Old Town. From the freshly renovated historic arcade, which boasts a series of excellent restaurants, to the cafes of the converted brick arches of the harbour, to the bars and night life surrounding the marina, Ramsgate enjoys of a vibrant and cosmopolitan life. The old town is highly convenient, with all your necessities taken care of on the high street, all within easy walking distance.

Ramsgate has a proud history of fishing and shipbuilding. The town also has the unique distinction in that it has the only Royal Harbour in Great Britain. This honour was bestowed upon it by King George IV, in recognition of his love of the place, when he was staying on Cliff Street on his way to visit his Kingdom of Hannover.
It also has beautiful sandy beaches and sits on a series of stunning walking trails, from the coastal path to Broadstairs and the epic Saxon Shore Way to Pegwell Bay Country Park.
